A: hi
B: hello
A: how's it going ?
B: good how about you
A: pretty good
A: what is your name ?
B: my name's alex dotson what's yours
A: i'm sam
B: nice to meet you sam
B: i'm glad we could go in on this together
A: nice to see you again too
A: um
A: sorry , go ahead
B: i was xxx
B: i was saying i'm glad that we can go in on this
B: auction together
A: yeah
A: absolutely
B: is there something you're more interested in
A: well
A: all of them are interesting to me
A: what about you ?
B: definitely have my eye on a few um what would be your first choice
A: well
A: let me see . . .
A: you know , i think that each of them has a value
A: which of these items are you most leaning towards ?
B: mm
B: i don't really have a use for the clock
A: oh
A: why is that ?
B: um
B: i just don't see it being useful for my
B: antique shop
B: so
B: if you would like you can definitely
B: go with the clock
A: well
A: i'm not sure . . .
A: let's talk about the plates
B: okay
A: do you like the plates ?
B: um they are in good condition
B: it is hard to find a set that
A: yeah
B: pristine
A: true
A: how do you feel about the chairs ?
B: i
B: would probably out of all of these items prefer to go with
B: all three chairs
A: oh really ?
A: well
A: that doesn't feel right to me .
B: then it won't work quite will it
B: um
A: not really .
B: well we should each leave with three items
B: since there are a total of six
A: well , that's an interesting idea .
A: um
A: if you could pick any three items , what would they be ?
B: mm
B: probably
B: this would be my first choice
A: ok
A: well
A: what do you think about me getting one chair ?
B: i think that would work
B: sure
A: um
A: what are you thinking about the plates ?
B: well um
B: you could either have both sets of plates and the clock
B: and i could have
B: all three chairs
A: no , that's not gonna work for me .
B: or
A: i've got a buyer who's interested in these chairs
B: you could have one chair and i could have one set of the plates
A: that doesn't work for me because i really want the chairs more than anything
B: hmm
B: well then
B: what should we do
A: can i take two chairs and the clock and you take one chair and both plates ?
A: i know you have buyers for these plates since they're in really good condition
B: i would have buyers for them but i have more interest in taking two chairs
B: than i do in taking two plates
A: same here
A: that's true for me too
B: hmm
B: maybe
A: apparently we want the same thing
B: maybe we should just both
B: bid
B: separately then and see
B: who wins
A: it's better to figure out a way to go in fifty fifty instead of having a bidding war
B: hmm
B: but if we can't come to an agreement
A: true
A: well
A: let's come up with a plan that we can walk out of here and benefit from
B: okay
A: what do you wanna do ?
B: mm
B: i need to leave with at least two chairs
B: that has to be
B: what happens
A: really ?
A: huh
A: well
A: i also want the chairs
A: that one's kinda hard
B: mhm
A: um
B: but like you were saying before you could take
B: both plates
B: and a chair
B: and then i could take
B: two chairs and a clock
A: um
A: let me think for a second .
A: how about if i take one chair , both plates , and the clock and you take two chairs ?
A: i think that's pretty fair
B: i mean that's fine 'cause the clock really has no value to me
A: ok
A: are you happy and satisfied with this deal ?
B: mm not really i'd rather have all three chairs but
A: well
A: i want to try to be as fair as possible
B: so
A: can you agree to that ?
B: i guess
A: ok
A: done deal
A: thank you
A: until next time
A: goodbye
B: bye
B:
